Kayley’s Bridal Session!

Author: Alex  //  Category: Weddings

On Sunday I had the great pleasure of photographing Kayley for her bridal portraits.  The location was lake Lotela in Avon Park, it was simply beautiful!  When I got into town it was sprinkling but hadn’t rained too hard at the location and it stayed overcast the rest of the day.

The lake was extremely low but it worked out in our favor!  The steps at the end of the dock which are usually half way under water allowed me to be at the bottom of the steps (standing in sand) and shoot her from that vantage point.  I can’t wait for the wedding! Look for the wedding post on Saturday April 5th! :)

Down and Dirty in South Florida!

Author: Alex  //  Category: Racing

This weekend was crazy I woke up on Saturday morning and headed for Tampa to buy a bed frame that saw on craigslist. I ended up running a little late from what I figured it would take me and I got back at around 4:00 in the afternoon about 30 minutes later I was back on the road again!

I met my girlfriend in Myaka and then jumped on 75 and headed down to Naples! We arrived at the hotel at around 9:00 pm. After all that driving I went straight to bed! We traveled all that distance to see the “World Famous Swamp Buggy Races” (as their website claims).

Well we got up about 9:30 but oh no Mr. Ben Franklin had to invent daylight savings time! So it was really 10:30 and all of our friend were already at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. So we got ready super quick and met everyone for breakfast.

We got to the track, moat, or whatever you would like to call it about 11:45 and the races started at 12:00. So we were making good time! We got are tickets and grabbed some seats. After I scoped the place out for about 20 min I pulled out my camera and started firing off shots.

So I figured maybe that have a ton of photogs already covering since they claim that it is “World Famous”. I get there and I saw two photogs all day long in the restricted area! But luckily where we were at I had a great view and nobody bothered me.

Eagle’s View!

I wanted to get a good shot of the entire fair before it was over, but I couldn’t find a good vantage point.  That is until Florida Sales and Rentals brought in their 60 foot cherry picker!  It wasn’t the best weather for being that high up, it was about 32 degrees on the ground, but a believe it was few degrees colder than that up there!  A big thanks goes out to Clay Cobb of Florida Sales and Rentals for accommodating me! :)

It’s Not A Fair Without A Ferris Wheel!

Author: Alex  //  Category: Events

Last year there was no Ferris wheel to be found at our local county fair! I thought it was kind of silly. I don’t think a fair is official without the Ferris wheel. But the Hardee County Fair Association came through this year with not one but two Ferris wheels! So I decided to go out and get a few shots of them in action this one below was my favorite!
